Share & Show: Oregon’s Central Oregon Rock Collectors

Get ready to rock out with real geologists and geophysicists from Oregon’s Central Oregon Rock Collectors as they visit to show off some truly cool rocks! Kids will get an up-close look at fascinating stones and learn how scientists study the Earth—from what’s beneath our feet to how rocks are formed over millions of years.

This is a hands-on, show-and-share style program where children can pass around rocks, ask questions, and explore the tools scientists use to find and study rocks. Magnets, maps, and mystery stones—who knows what you’ll discover?

After the presentation, kids can stick around for a rock hunt and dig site to explore, searching for hidden treasures and putting their new geology skills to the test.
