The last Wednesday of each month, join us at The Dalles Art Center for storytime! 

This playful storytime brings early literacy to life for toddlers with hands-on playdough fun!

Family Lego Pizza Night occurs on the last Thursday of each month at 5:30pm.

Join us every Friday in January as we dive into a month-long Pacific Northwest–themed storytime adventure! After each session, kids can add their own creative touch to a growing mural in the Children’s Wing.

Join us for a special after-hours celebration to wrap up our Winter Reading Program! We’ll start with a cozy family storytime, then you’ll get to build your very own blanket fort right inside the library.

Every Monday morning at 10:30, join a librarian and a special guest buddy for a storytime. The buddy might be a puppet, a community helper, or a visiting critter. It's a mystery, and it's always special!

One-on-one reading helps kids gain confidence. This program is open to all kids from beginning readers to those looking to practice with a patient, furry listener.

Come and pick out some fun temporary tattoos! You might go home with a dragon on your hand or a rainbow on your cheek. Whatever you pick, it's sure to look awesome!

This storytime is held every Tuesday at  11:15 AM in the Children's Wing. Join us for stories, songs, bonding, playtime, early literacy practice, and lots of fun!

In this hands-on, play-based program, toddlers and preschoolers are invited to build structures, make discoveries, ask big questions, and embrace the joy of a little mess.

Help your young reader grow with confidence! Join our Literacy Launchpad, a fun and supportive literacy program designed for children who need a little extra help.

Join us for a quiet, calm evening storytime. We won't have bright lights or loud singing, and we'll have a sensory toy or bin for everyone to play with while we listen to a story. 

Fun and games for toddlers and preschool age children! Every Wednesday morning in the library meeting room at 10:30 am until 11:00 am. Adults must accompany their child and can join in the fun! Games, crafts, music, and Fun!

Join a group of writers aged 9-12 years old! Share your writing, learn how to give and receive feedback, get exposed to new writing styles, prompts, and ideas, and hang out and have snacks while making new friends!

Beats n’ Bites Month is a celebration where music and food come together! Our storytimes and activities will explore fun songs, tasty tales, and playful rhythms that turn everyday moments into amazing pastime experiences.

Join us on Friday in the main part of the library for some quick games to honor the Winter Olympics. February 6th, 13th, 20th we will have 30 min games that will test you- Get ready! "Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together"  

Come by the library from February 9th to the 14th to celebrate National Library Lover's Month! We will have activites ongoing in the main portion of the library to highlight all the wonderful ways our library loves you...and books :)
