Join us for a Family FUN night with a STEAM learning spin! Each month on the second Thursday, we'll gather in the main library for a family-friendly activity in the genre of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and/or Math.

Beats n’ Bites Month is a celebration where music and food come together! Our storytimes and activities will explore fun songs, tasty tales, and playful rhythms that turn everyday moments into amazing pastime experiences.

Let's get together and celebrate love! If you're in a relationship or a single little pringle, come and enjoy snacks and games with prizes :) 

Come craft your own wickedly sweet race car from candies, cookies, and other sweets. Put your delicious creation to the test, and let it race down the Sugar Rush Speedway ramp!

Whether you've read  and have strong opinions on every Shakespeare play or have just a vague memory of being confused by one of them in high school and want to understand what all of the fuss is about, this class is for you!

Join us on Friday in the main part of the library for some quick games to honor the Winter Olympics. February 6th, 13th, 20th we will have 30 min games that will test you- Get ready! "Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together" 

Welcome to our magical preschool yoga adventure! Each class begins with a story that whisks little yogis away to far-off lands — from jungles full of giggling monkeys to undersea kingdoms with dancing dolphins!

Come for a supersized version of the classic show-and-tell that kids love so much, and meet the Portland Pilots ' Men's Basketball Team! Team members from the University of Portland will visit the library.

Adventure Awaits! (Ages 6–11)

Fall in love with the dance floor! 💘 Join us for a Valentine’s Day Couples Swing Dance Event—a fun, feel-good evening with music, simple steps, and plenty of time to dance together. No experience needed (beginners welcome).

This storytime is held every Tuesday at  11:15 AM in the Children's Wing. Join us for stories, songs, bonding, playtime, early literacy practice, and lots of fun!

In this hands-on, play-based program, toddlers and preschoolers are invited to build structures, make discoveries, ask big questions, and embrace the joy of a little mess.

The board for the Wasco County Library Service District meets at 4:00 on the third Tuesday of most months.  These meetings are usually held in the meeting room at The Dalles Public Library; though at least once a year at Dufur and at Maupin.
