Stories and folktales offer a kaleidoscope of timeless wisdom—like an owner’s manual for being human. This introductory class is designed for anyone who wants to awaken their inner storyteller!

Working with powerful, symbolic tales from around the world—especially midlife and elder tales—you’ll explore universal themes, cultural wisdom, and the art of oral storytelling. This is not a drama class, and there is no memorization required. Instead, you’ll learn storytelling techniques to help you speak naturally, authentically, and confidently.

Instructor Nancy Turner, M.Ed. is a retired psychotherapist now happily living in The Dalles. In the course of her forty-five-year career, she was a board member of the Oregon Friends of Jung, an adoption specialist, a founder of a counseling center and a meditation center in Portland, Oregon. She has led personal growth workshops and seminars on various topics in the Northwest, Hawaii, Mexico  and Thailand.  Nancy has studied tales for midlife and elder tales from around the world for over 30 years, and has taught the skills of how to tell stories many times. Join us for this at the library for this special storytelling workshop.
