Have you ever wondered why so many of the world's strange and unique animals live on remote islands? Do you know what the study of island biodiversity can teach us about creating nature reserves in the middle of a desert? Is it a mystery to you how a monkey could cross hundreds of miles of open ocean to start a population on an island? And just how realistic is the science behind the animal community on the island in "The Wild Robot", anyway?
Join us for either or both of our two Island Life educational talks at the library on the 2nd and 3rd Fridays in April! Come ready to learn with your island-giganticism sized curiosity. Ask lots of questions, drink some fruit punch, and meet special crawly guests from the island of Madagascar. We hope to see you there!
All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend, but please keep in mind that some of the science we'll be discussing might be conceptually challenging to younger attendants. The content is geared towards older elementary school aged children and up. We will provide coloring pages and supplies for anyone who would like to doodle while listening to the lecture!
